What DSN is my iServer connecting to?

The Problem:
  • You have multiple Metadata DSNs setup on your server
  • Now you need to find out which one your iServer is connecting to

The Solution:

If your running Windows Server, you can do the following...

1.  On your server go to Start >> Run

2.  Type in "regedit" and click OK (Please note that you should never change values in the registry editor. It could cause severe damage to your system)

3. Browse to the following path
            32 bit: >> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicroStrategy\Data Sources\CastorServer
            64 bit: >> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\MicroStrategy\Data Sources\CastorServer

4. Look for the entry on the right named "Location". The value should look like this: "DSN=Metadata_DSN_Name"

And now you know....
